ArmInfo. On December 19, 2023, the UN General Assembly at the 48th plenary meeting of the 78th session adopted two resolutions initiated by Turkmenistan - “Strengthening connections between all modes of transport to achieve sustainable development goals” and “The key role of reliable and stable energy connectivity in ensuring sustainable development".

Armenia supported the UN General Assembly resolution on a ceasefire in the Gaza Strip.  Representatives of 120 countries from 193 UN member states voted in support of the document, with 120 votes in favour, 14 against and 45 abstentions The United States, Israel, the Czech Republic, Croatia, Austria and a number of other countries voted against the resolution. 

ArmInfo. On September 23, within the framework of the 78th session of the UN General Assembly  in New York, Minister of Foreign Affairs of Armenia Ararat Mirzoyan had a meeting with the UN Secretary General Antonio Guterres.

ArmInfo.Secretary Blinken met today with Turkish Foreign Minister Hakan Fidan on the margins of  the UN General Assembly to emphasize the importance of the U.S.-Turkiye relationship and express his strong support for increased economic and bilateral collaboration, according to a readout by the U.S. Department of State. 

ArmInfo. The fundamental principle of the Georgian government is to avoid war and preserve  peace, Georgian Prime Minister Irakli Garibashvili said at the 78th session of the UN General Assembly, APA's Tbilisi correspondent reports.

Armenian Foreign Minister Ararat Mirzoyan, during his speech at an extraordinary  meeting of the UN Security Council, expressed gratitude to the Security Council for convening this urgent meeting to discuss the security and humanitarian situation in Nagorno-Karabakh stemming from unprovoked and well-planned military attack by Azerbaijan.

ArmInfo.The High Representative of the European Union for Foreign Affairs and Security  Policy, Josep Borrell, discussed the situation around Artsakh with Turkish Foreign Minister Hakan Fidan. Borrell announced this on his microblog on Twitter.

ArmInfo.On the sidelines of the 78th session of the UN General Assembly in New York, RA  Foreign Minister Ararat Mirzoyan met with German Foreign Minister Annalena  Baerbock. 

ArmInfo. EU states are assessing the situation in Nagorno- Karabakh and have not yet made  any decisions to impose sanctions against Baku. Lead Spokesperson for EU Foreign Affairs and Security Policy Peter Stano stated at a briefing on September 21.
